As a yoga teacher, one of your greatest assets is your voice. Your voice guides your students throughout the class. From the moment they step on their mats, it creates an atmosphere, connects students to their breath, guides them in meditation and leads them through the asana practice. Your ability to speak clearly and confidently with a pleasant and engaging voice is critical for a successful class.
In the Yoga Voice workshop, you will learn a simple yet powerful process to develop a rich, resonant voice. A resonant voice is rich in overtones and gives the voice a quality of warmth, richness and fullness. The vibrations of a resonant voice create a calming, relaxing effect on the students. This is a voice that your students will enjoy listening to. A voice that easily fills the teaching space with your presence. You will also learn how to use body language to project confidence and effectively engage with your students.
One of the problems that many teachers experience is performance anxiety – the fear associated with speaking to a group of people. You will learn effective and proven techniques to overcome performance anxiety and even channel this nervous energy to power your teaching.
